We are operating in an increasingly culturally diverse environment. It is important that nurses can function ethically and effectively in intercultural settings. Nurses need the skills to interact, communicate, build relationships, and work effectively with people from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
Please join us as we explore cultural humility and the importance of providing culturally and linguistically appropriate care to every client no matter their age, socioeconomic status, race, gender, ability, sexual orientation, and/or religion. At the end of this session, attendees should be able to:
- Discuss the impacts of implicit bias on health care.
- Describe cultural competency and cultural humility and the role it plays in your nursing practice.
- Identify ways to advance health equity, improve quality of care, and help eliminate health care disparities.
This event is in person only and will be held in Lebanon, OR. Contact hours are pending.
